Destiny Characters and Their Zodiac Signs

Anyone who’s into the Destiny series might know that the guardians and other characters in the series don’t have official birthdays, because when they die and are reborn into guardians  they forget their past. Here’s what I think their sign is based on their personalities and actions within game. There will be in game content talked about in this, so if you’re not caught up on story content, be warned. (Note: I am not a professional astrologer, I just enjoy the study and have a lot of fun with it.)

Aries-Petra Venj

The queen’s wrath herself, with a fiery passion for her people and fierce loyalty, is an Aries. She has a past of being too reckless in the field and accidentally took out guardians, so she had to beg Mara to come back to her position as a corsair. She is still learning patience, as we see weekly in the Dreaming City, but she has the will to lead the guardians into the Awoken city to fight week after week.

Taurus – Zavala

As stubborn as they come, Zavala is a grounded Taurus, firm in his ways. Zavala is a powerful leader of the Vanguard, reminding us to put our first reactions aside to see practicality and reason. Zavala knows that if he breaks his people will break too, so he keeps an almost rigid stance at all times to make the Tower and Vanguard feel safe.

Gemini-Mara Sov

“A side should always be taken, even if it is the wrong side.” Mara Sov is the expert of the Awoken, the first of her kind and the questionable leader, but only questionable to us. The Gemini is all about the duality of things, which Mara Sov is trying to balance the darkness and the light. Mara is constantly trying to learn more about the universe and what’s to come, but her ways as a queen have come off as selfish and manipulative to the guardians.

Cancer-Eva Levante

Eva Levante is the Cancer grandmother that all guardians deserve. Who better than Eva herself to bake us cookies and comfort us in times of trouble? Before she held shop in the Tower, she would help out fellow guardians by making them clothing and emblems to help them stand out to the Vanguard. She is the one we look forward to seeing every holiday to talk about what’s going on in our lives, because she’s the only one who can understand with compassion.

Leo – Lord Shaxx

Fearless and loyal to the guardians with a large ego and plenty of hyperbole, Lord Shaxx is a Leo. Offering guidance and instilling courage into the guardians to fight harder, Shaxx is a radiating light to us and the Crucible. He can be playful and funny, which makes for a fun leader, however he can come off bigheaded and overly proud. Lions do have a strong sense of affection, and we know he has his eyes on our Gemini, Mara Sov.

Virgo – Ikora Rey

Highly devoted and in tune with their humility, Virgos are the practical but critical sign. Ikora is a magical friend who is fiercely loyal to her people, but she is also self-critical of her past which makes her a bit of a loner. She struggled with an anti-social thirst for knowledge which relates well with Virgos, because they are known to judge and get stuck on their “high horse”. We know Ikora for her hard work and genuine interactions with the guardians.

Libra – Ana Bray

Ana Bray is a complicated character, because she does know who she was before the collapse. The Brays did a lot of questionable things, but also a lot of good. Ana Bray has us tune back into the Warmind “Rasputin”, despite Zavalas warnings. Libras are very charming but tend to strafe back and forth, always wanting the equilibrium and harmony in life. This could lead to dishonesty to getting their way, which is the best* way.

Scorpio – Eris Morne

Probably the easiest decision to place, Eris Morne is a Scorpio. Scorpios, the most mysterious sign, are known for their obsessive natures and the transformations they go through in life. Eris Morne, known for her escape from the Hellmouth, has a huge fascination with the Hive lore, and uses their power to this day. She is secretive, vengeful, powerful and has huge depth and bravery.

Sagittarius – The Drifter

The restless wanderer, the Drifter is a Sagittarius. Like a Sagittarius who loves to expand their knowledge on the world, he has traveled throughout the solar system and has had many crews, searching out for more selfish knowledge on the Taken that can’t be learned by word of mouth. He has no issue with confrontation, and the game of gambit we play for him is fueling his fire of fanaticism for something else unknown.

Capricorn – Hawthorne

Being a Capricorn myself, I had a couple picks for this sign but I think Hawthorne is the best choice. Capricorns have a strong ambition and know how to adapt and evolve to the situation so they can climb the ranks. Hawthorne is not a light bearer, but has worked to get to the Tower and become a part of our crew.

Aquarius – Cayde-6

A rebel exo, a good laugh, and an eccentric soul, I decided to place Cayde as an Aquarius. Aquarians seem to just embrace chaos like it’s a part of their everyday life, but they can also struggle with detachment from their inner emotions when they feel they are getting to close to anyone. They are always searching for freedom and they hold a secret need for the spotlight, but would never admit it.

Pisces – Uldren Sov

Yeah…I picked him. The main reason was because Pisces is the sign of rebirth at the end of a cycle (being the last sign in the zodiac), and if you’ve played through Forsaken, you know where I’m going here. Pisces hold unconditional love for the people closest to them, and have such strong emotions that they can always put themselves into someone else’s shoes. Pisces struggle is that they can fall into a deep pattern of loathing if they feel unappreciated or unworthy. Uldren was actually being driven mad by Riven, but was also vulnerable in the first place because of his pain of losing his sister.
